- The Robert Jones books are basically the same, with the pictures rearranged. So, if you like one of his books and purchase it, rest assured that it's almost identical to all his other ones. Now having pointed that out, I do like RJ's makeup style. The beautiful results from his application techniques are wonderful for special occasions and events. You can dial down some of the techniques for everyday wear. Overall, this book is okay, a little dated, but great techniques rarely expire...which is why the RJ books are almost identical.

This book is such a wonderful source of
illustrated information for the beauty career . A bride to be will certainly find it
helpful also. Purchase it and you won,t ever regret it! ‼ï¸ðŸ˜ŠðŸ˜ŠðŸ˜ŠI sure am happy and I,m not even a bride 👰 - This book tells you in great detail how to apply your makeup whether you are an expert or someone who doesn't know the first thing about makeup. I like how the author writes because it's like he's having a conversation with you rather than giving you instructions. This book is definitely going to be the thing that gets me through doing my own makeup for my wedding this year! It's easy to use, and I've learned so much from it! The only thing I do not like is that it doesn't talk about how to do your mom's makeup the day of the wedding. But other than that, I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and will definitely follow it to the tiniest detail because his models (which are everyday women with all sorts of skin) come out flawless!
- I bought this book to get inspired and I don't regret it.
I like his style and I use this book to show to others what I can do. It also shows how the work photographs and how much makeup needs to be applied to get these results. For example for a look to be well captured by the cameras, and not just look ok on the person or in person, it needs to have a certain intensity. Otherwise the person will look like she has no makeup on.
That is very important for someone doing makeup to be able to have the work photograph well. This book also shows amazing transformations, but I also suspect the photos have been photoshopped a little and each girl is wearing falsies. - I ordered this book to help me figure out how to do my own wedding makeup in September. Reading through it, I realized either I knew more than I thought I did or this book is written for an audience not super-skilled in makeup trickery; probably a little of both. However, I did learn a few new tricks and tips that will be very useful. Even knowing what I already did, I'd say this is definitely worth the purchase. Well-written, well-explained, well-photographed, good and factual information. )
- I think this book will be very useful to me as a makeup artist who does a lot of bridal work, it will work for me as a "catalogue" for my brides to choose the kind of makeup they would like, and also for me to recommend certain looks. I don't think it would be helpful for regular girls who want to do their own makeup at their wedding, because it doesn't teach you makeup application, like step by step techniques for doing concealer, foundation, etc. It does explain really well 3 basic eye techniques and shows you the variety of looks you can get following this same aplication. And I loved that. 100% recommended for makeup artists doing bridal work.
- This is a great book to have if you do bridal makeup and hair. I like to have it for my clients to look at when they are at my studio for a makeup and hair trial. This gives them a good idea of how bridal makeup should look like and gives them some ideas of what they would want for their own weddings. It does not have TOO many styles but enough for those brides who are unsure of what they want. Even if you have a well established bridal beauty business, this is a nice book to have just laying around your studio for brides to browse through.
