- What a fun story to read! A dutiful, hard working and capable daughter is thrown into an unfamiliar setting; a month-long cattle drive. Her limited horseback riding lessons and sheer determination is admired by all the cowboys. Each had bet she’d give up, quit after a day or two. No way this city slicker, Dallas girl and spoiled woman could last. The cowboys had not counted on her grit and stubborn determination. Three things happened She became a contributor to the group, thrived in the outdoors as she did her share of the work, and gained an independent streak. The best part of the whole book is her effort to beguile and lasso herself a Trail Boss!
- This book was very predictable as it followed similar plot lines in the other 6 books. I tended to like all of the male characters but only one or two of the female characters. Very early in all of the books, the heroine was jumping all over the hero and undressing him. Lots of sex scenes but most of the scenes were unnecessary. Got exhausted reading about it. Too much wasted time. It almost appeared the author did not know what else to write about so she filled the time with another sex scene. By the time I arrived at the last book (#7), I only read 1/3 of the book then skipped to the last chapter.
- This wild and fast-paced story will please even the most discriminating of cowgirl! For fans of Carolyn Brown you will love this latest story!
From Ringgold to Texas to the bayous of Louisiana this story is rated five stars for fun, love, craziness, tornadoes and flat out sexy cowboys.
Do yourself a favor. Read it now, then go back and read the rest of the series in order . You'll be happy you did!
Now, the only question I have to ask is this, 'How the heck do I get to Ringgold Texas?' 😎 - What a wOnderful book!!! I laughed so much. This ole country girl really enjoyed this story, complete with so many facets of my Life as a child. The horses and donkey were the best!!!
- Loved all 7 of the Spikes &Spurs series. I am sad to see it end. Cowboy seeks bride was one of the best, I couldn't put it down. The twist at the end really kept me hooked . What a great story line, great idea for a book and a reality tv show. I would watch it! Please write #8, I already miss the O'Donnell family.
- I've read enjoyed the entire series but this is by far the best story. I cAught myself laughing out loud several times. Carolyn Brown is my favorite author. She brings her characters to life. I especially enjoyed the Cajun references.
