Ebook Accidental PI A Private Investigator FiftyYear Search for the Facts David B Watts 9781545664124 Books
Confessions of a private investigator revealed.
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be a real-life private investigator--watching the bad guys through binoculars during a surveillance or interviewing witnesses in a murder case? Maybe you've envisioned testifying in a big federal court case or meeting with Fortune 500-types and advising them when their company is in trouble. Accidental P.I. takes you on a thrill ride following the fifty-year professional career of Private Investigator David Watts, as his life story treats you to these experiences and more. From murder, rioting, gambling and drug raids to sex cases, and fraud, this behind-the-scenes peek at real-life cases shows how investigators get the job done--not like in the movies or on television.
David Watts entered the investigative field as a young New Jersey policeman at the beginning of the turbulent 1960s. His descriptions of the seedier side of the cultural revolution during that era is riveting . . . and you get to go along for the ride! Switching to the private sector, he worked several years investigating insurance fraud before starting his own business in 1976. He has been at it ever since.
"An insider look on how cases are investigated and facts developed in preparation for trial, this memoir is also a candidly fun glimpse into the personalities and foibles of those involved. This is quality entertainment authored by someone who has 'been there.' A great read for those who appreciate authenticity."
--Robert W. Becker, Esquire

- Accidental P.I. is unlike many other autobiographical books written by private investigators, ex-spooks, and other investigative types. There is no hype, no puffery, and no self aggrandizement. "Just the facts, ma'am." And, the facts are what makes this a fascinating read. You get to know Dave and his wife Linda personally. The author writes like he is in the room, telling you their story, personally. You'll come away feeling you now know the true inside story of a very accomplished PI. The added bonus... learning the story behind the story of the high-profile, in-the-news cases these two have handled. Need a summer vacation book? Investigate this one.
- Great true story about police work in New Jersey and the private investigation business. Well written and an easy read. David Watts has written a truly fascinating memoir about his time in Plainfield, NJ during the 60s as a cop, followed by his move into the private investigator business. His descriptions of real life events and the characters brings the stories to life. Most enjoyable book.
- I borrowed this from a local cafe that has books on the table. I had glanced at it while waiting for my lunch and got caught up in it so they let me take it home to finish. It was a very easy, interesting, and light read. I enjoyed it a lot. And I learned a lot of interesting things. Thanks to the author!
